- About us: COOPINHAL, the cooperative of coffee farmers of Espirito Santo do Pinhal, Sao Paulo state, south east of Brazil, was inaugurated in 1959 by a small group of coffee farmers to reduce the costs, better the quality and gain competitivity.Today,350 associates are harvesting an average of 70.000 bags of 130lbs green coffee of the highest quality every year. Coopinhal's coffee is a 100% pure arabica, and it is sold to the best roasting companies all over the world for nearly 50 years.Very recently, Coopinhal decided to invest in a roasting, grinding and packing unit to sell in a more direct way. We only pack the top of our production.The GRAN RESERVA COOPINHAL, result of this investment, has immediately won the GOURMET quality title by the VANZOLINI FOUNDATION, Brazil's most respectable coffee control and certification organization. There are only 10 coffees in Brazil to have won this title.For being processed by a cooperative (aka non profit association), the GRAN RESERVA COOPINHAL is also the less expensive of these 10 Brazilian GOURMET coffees.This exceptionnal coffee is grown above 900 meters in altitude, on the "Serra da Mantiqueira" sides, right in the middle of the MOGIANA planting area. The MOGIANA coffee area is widely known by coffee professionnals.From the 70.000 green coffee bags harvested every year at Coopinhal, less than 15% is suitable for the GRAN RESERVA COOPINHAL.
